Theo Clarke MP for Stafford recently met with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP, ahead of the Budget. Following this meeting, Ms Clarke is pleased that an extra £2.3 million of Government funding to boost the adult social care workforce in Staffordshire has been announced. Ms Clarke appreciates all the efforts of the NHS health & social care workers during the coronavirus pandemic and thanked them for all they have done and continue to do for Stafford residents.
Care homes and home care providers will benefit from this funding through a new workforce retention and recruitment fund. The ring-fenced funding will support local authorities working with providers to recruit staff. The funding will also be available to help retain the existing workforce through overtime payments and providing further capacity to support their health and well-being through occupational health.
