Theo Clarke MP for Stafford recently met with Councillor David Williams the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at Staffordshire County Council to discuss fixing potholes and improving Staffordshire roads. Ms Clarke is therefore pleased that 1,591 potholes and other defects have been fixed on Staffordshire’s roads in the past month. Last year highway crews repaired more than 35,000 road defects across the county. Staffordshire County Council has provided a further £15.5 million in funding for Staffordshire’s roads, with the money going towards fixing an extra 9,000 potholes over the next 12 months. This funding is in addition to £50 million investment in major projects, maintenance and local improvements.
