Theo Clarke MP for Stafford was pleased to hold one of her regular meetings with the Staffordshire police team and Chief Inspector Giles Parsons, Neighbourhood Policing Team Commander for the Stafford Borough, at Stafford Police Station. Following Ms Clarke’s recent visit to Staffordshire Women’s Aid, Ms Clarke pressed Staffordshire Police on their strategy to tackle Violence, Abuse and Intimidation against Women and Girls. Ms Clarke also updated the Chief Inspector on her extensive work in Parliament to tackle domestic abuse.
Ms Clarke welcomes that following the Government’s pledge to put 20,000 additional officers on the streets by 2023, more than 11,000 people have already joined the force. These additional officers will bolster the work already being done across the country, which has seen over 1,500 County Lines closed and £4.3 million in drugs seized. During her visit to Stafford Police Station, Ms Clarke pressed Staffordshire Police on how the force is working to further prevent rural crime and stop County Lines gangs.
Ms Clarke also urged Staffordshire Police to protect the beautiful countryside across her constituency by taking a tough stance on fly-tipping and reprimanding those responsible. Ms Clarke spoke with the Chief Inspector about how she can work with the Police to combat anti-social behaviour in Stafford. Ms Clarke thanked Staffordshire Police for all that they do to protect people across Staffordshire.
