For National Apprenticeship Week, Theo Clarke MP for Stafford visited Stafford College. Ms Clarke had a meeting with Karen Dobson, the principal of Stafford College to discuss the opportunities available for local students who are studying at the College. Ms Clarke spoke with Karen Dobson about how Government backed apprenticeships are a vital tool to support young people entering the workplace. During the visit to Stafford college, Ms Clarke saw how Government funding is helping train Staffordshire residents for local skilled jobs. Ms Clarke was pleased to hear first-hand from students at Stafford College about how the College is preparing them for work. Stafford College put on a number of events to support students on National Apprenticeship Week, showcasing the wide range of opportunities for pupils in Staffordshire.
At Stafford College, Ms Clarke presented the student of the month award to a number of pupils and congratulated them all on their hard work. The student of the month award recognises the dedication and progress of pupils throughout the academic year. Ms Clarke will continue to work locally and in Parliament to support young people in gaining the skills they need to prepare for work.
