I’m writing to introduce myself as the new Chairman of the Stafford Constituency Conservative Association.
I was honoured to assume the role at the Association’s AGM on the 25th June 2021, taking over from Ann Foster following her many successful years as Chairman. I am very pleased that Ann is continuing in her role as Chair of the Women’s Committee, and I am grateful Ann will continue to be a source of support and guidance to me in my new role.
I am also pleased to be working alongside Cllr Ray Sutherland who continues in his role as Deputy Chairman Political and Cllr Ann Edgeller who continues in her role as Deputy Chairman Membership & Fundraising.
Our friend and former MP, Jeremy Lefroy has been elected as President of the Association taking over the Presidential reins from the late Amyas Stafford-Northcote who will be greatly missed.
We have many hopes and strong ambitions for the Association, and we intend to build on the success and momentum that Theo Clarke’s election to Parliament and our success in the recent County Council elections has given us.
However, we have all been facing an unprecedented challenge with the impact of COVID-19 continuing to linger and all our efforts must be directed at looking after each other, our families, friends, neighbours and the wider community and to help alleviate the impact on those in most need. We are fortunate that the vaccination programme has been so successful.
I hope, that once we have beaten this pandemic and life returns to some form of normality, we will be able to resume our activities and I look forward to meeting you in person.
With best wishes
Duncan Sandbrook, Chairman
